"What Does He Do All Day?" Part Two

Pappy Under Construction, 2006-12-02This week a contractor started rebuilding our porch room. We went to the office, and when we came home the room was gutted-- my wife says it's like we've got a construction fairy. I'm not sure the workers would be too pleased if we got them t-shirts that said that.

The workers have to come through the house to get to the porch, and, of course, Pappy is running loose. I have to wonder what he is up to through all of this activity. I don't see any evidence of blood or detached limbs, so he's certainly not protecting the house. Heaven help us if he's playing ball with them.

I'd say he's sleeping. It's what we do.

Pappy's Fella:
Dogs are pretty good judges of character, so I'd say he is evaluating the help and supervising their efforts. On our last renovation project, Nigel (our ESS) stayed home with the construction crew, who had to agree to that stipulation before we signed the contract. Nigel gained four pounds in two months. Seems everyone shared lunches.

Moral. You may want to get some extra exercise in for Pappy while the crews are around.

Buster,
I'm not so sure. I notice the chairs on the back patio are facing out towards the yard, and his ball is outside when we get home... something's going on here.

Gus,
Moral noted. I have noticed Pappy nosing around the construction debris in the back yard with great interest. Occasionally he emerges with a juice carton or other delectable tidbit.

I'm still rather intrigued with the whole steal-and-joyride a ferrari concept.

Only Pappy will ever know.

Oh, and the construction workers.

Chow for now,

3dog, I think Pappy is seducing the workers away from work. A few days ago it was a ball in the back yard, yesterday a rope toy.

Tin Tin, I'm going to have to debrief those workers.
