Christmas Surprise

Oaxacan Carving of PappyMy wife surprised me this Christmas with a little Pappy homunculus. A veritable doppelganger, ball and all. There's a web site that specializes in making Oaxacan carvings from photographs of your pet, and the Pappy commission is featured on their site.

I'm thinking of using this as the model for my planned Pappy colossus, with his treelike legs spanning the Potomac near the Mall in DC. It could even function as the perfect pedestrian bridge, where tourists walk in the mouth and come out the... never mind.

It's really neat. What a great present. We're having a full-blown white xmas here in the mountains of CO. So much so that our guests are NOT coming. Ah, well ... more cookies for us.

Ho ho ho

I saw him! I saw him! He's a TV star. I did see him Sunday night.
I have been lurking in the shadows here for about 6 months and never had the courage to show myself but I did want to say that I saw Pappy on TV. Great job. Give him a hug for me.

Merry Christmas, if there is a collection to build the Pappy statue, we are in!

Gus,
Thanks! We can't do Paypal because we are only accepting precious gems.

Ruth,
It was an exciting moment, wasn't it? We are working on a Pappy remix of the show because the editors clearly didn't know their jobs. Sadly we are working from a wobbly video filmed from the TV screen.

Gayle, Maggie & Mitch,
He is a fine looking fella.

Roxanne,
Sorry about your guests. No white christmas in these parts.
