Philosophical Discussions at the Dog Park

Bentley the KomondorThis morning at the dog park the discussion took an intellectual turn. We began to discuss pets and the crapper. This may be more than most of you really want to know, but when I am headed into the bathroom Pappy starts wagging his tail furiously. He loves to sit by and watch as we do our business. Why not? We watch him. And he's really fascinated by flushing. Another park regular reported that the full complement of dog and cats like to be in attendance for each such performance. Closing the door is not an option because of the ensuing ruckus from disgruntled fans.

2007-05-05-0827-00Meanwhile, the warm weather is on and you can't restrain Pappy from the wading pool. When he jumps out of the pool he leaves behind a stream of water around the dog park. You've heard of the Appalachian Trail, the Oregon Trail, the Scopes-Monkey Trail, and now the Pappy Trail.

We just might have to follow the Pappy Trail! The only thing better than finding Pappy at the end would be finding food! But Pappy would have probably eaten all of already.

Do you think we should have Mom get us a pool?

we love any stories about pee and poo! DOofus has to be in the bathroom with Mom, but only because he has to go EVERYWHERE she does.

I like pulling the toilet roll across the room when I'm in the bathroom!

Pappy, sorry to say Louise and I won't be at the dog park for a few weeks. As you might recall I got very skinny and my Mom was really worried about me. She took me to my doctor this week -- they confirmed that my poo eating has caused me to have a nasty virus and so I'm taking giant pills several times everyday (my Mom shoves them down my throat!). I will miss the poo and the pool. Hope to see you soon.

Truman/B&P,
We missed you guys yesterday, and I guess it may be a while before we see you. Despite any odd fetishes, Truman's my boy. I know this was worrying you, and at least it's good to have some understanding of what was going on with the weight-loss.

Dachsies,
If you want to make your own Pappy Trail, it ends here.

Joe,
Potty humor is a favorite in the Pappy household as well. I can find at least seven blog articles with the term "poo" or "poop".

Oscar,
That's a great hobby. I think it was Bella the Boxer that had some nice shots of TP trailed throughout the house.

I have an audience as well. I can say 'i have to go pee' and the two of them run off to the bathroom to await my arrival.

Bathroom visits always cause a ruckus in our house. Two dogs watch us shower, and tussle for the best view. Two dogs watch us humans as we pee and poop, and seem fascinated by the differences. Reports are that Teka sticks her nose between Rich's knees to watch the action! I have not verified that.

Finnegan is not into the bathroom but two of the cats are. They insist on joining either of us while we are in the shower. Donald sits on the sink or toilet and if we peek out at him, he meows. So weird.

Minou,
Sounds cozy!

Gus and Finnegan,
Pappy would never approach us voluntarily when there is water running in the area of thet tub. However, Teka's curiousity about what is going on underneath the seated human is consistent with Pappy's profile.
