Suspicious Symmetry

We don't live in anyplace like the country, but we spot deer with increasing frequency in our little suburban neighborhood. If Pappy and I are walking along the stream path at dusk, we are almost guaranteed a sighting. It's a little disconcerting, because they are crashing around through peoples' back yards just a few feet from busy roads.

Recently we encountered one a short distance from us on the path. As Pappy strained on his leash, he lined up perfectly with the fleeing deer. I couldn't help but notice a curious simliarity in their hindquarters.

Deer and Pappy

Can you scale a fence like a deer? I love the way they "fly"!

Love ya lots,
Maggie

Oscar,
I agree. It's one of the things I loved best about his adoption photo.

Bella,
Could be. He definitely acts squirrely too.

Maggie,
Pappy's no fence scaler. The one time Pappy accidentally jumped the fence while chasing a ball, he was entirely dumbfounded about how to get back.

Hey, Pappy. Visit DBOL's new site at http://dbol.wordpress.com. I moved to WordPress after I accidentally cut out my entire Blogger template on Saturday. It's a long story, but visit my new site, anyway. I'll still be using my Google account to leave a comment on your site.

Pappy, that must be some fun to see deer on your walk! Are there two of them in that photo!?

Tierre,
Good luck with the new digs. I always wondered about the advantages of Wordpress... you ought to do a posting.

Charlie,
It looks like there are two, but 'fraid the photo is appropriated from the internet. I have to be one of the slowest photographers around... if it were my photo all there would be left is the trees.

Speaking of peculiar similarities....my friend told me about Pappy's web site just today. She said he must be my Stella's long lost brother. I couldn't believe my eyes! I wish I could leave a picture to show you, but I'm not sure how to do it...

Signed,
Stella (Pappy's Mini Michigan twin)

Dory and Liza, Keep on hmmming.

Asta, Left a picture for you, but it ended up sideways. Whoops.

Stella, We've got a blogging buddy whose Maggie is also a lookalike.

Nugget, Watch them racoons, not to be trusted.

Hi Pappy

There's a deer farm not far away from where we live. My mum thinks they are very pretty. I don't take much notice of them. I'm more interested in birds and bugs.

Wow, your daddy sure is clever with videos. My mum cried when we watched the DWB Anniversary video.

Bye for now from your Aussie friend, Hammer

Hammer,
At first Pappy didn't notice the deer, and I thought it was some deep seated instinct for self-preservation. But then he started noticing the deer.

Never heard the whole story of Beau until I saw the TV clip. Good luck.

Sorry to say this, but Maggie looks a bit more regal than our Stella and Pappy do! I just created a blog and posted Stella's picture. (The phone will probably be ringing off the hook soon now with agents calling...sigh!)
Check her out when you get a chance at stellaandannie.blogspot.com

Stella,
I've been promised early and often that Maggie looks just like our shagmonsters without all the spa treatments. There's hope for us yet.
