After Pappy hops out of his wading pool, I can't help but break into a chorus of Skinny Legs by Lyle Lovett.
Pappy is our mustachioed terrier mutt, with the bandy-legged gait of a cowpoke and the grizzled mug of a chuckwagon cook. These are his ongoing adventures...

Buster, Maggie, Joe,
Perhaps Pappy needs a friend. Do ostriches fetch?
Oscar,
I suspect this proves his Schnairdale roots.
New definition of "bird dog"!

So similar but Pappy is better!
frasier
those are some long legs!
M-fax,
Yessir, they reach all the way down to the ground.
Frasier,
Thanks for your vote of confidence. I spent a few weeks with some high school kids who did some ostrich wrangling on a ranch, and truth is they are kind of scary.
Fleas,
Somehow I doubt Pappy would come bounding out of the brush with an ostrich in tow, but you never know.
Yeah, Ok, but couldn't you think of that old Joe Tex song called "I Love her....Skinny legs and all"
Hahahahahahahha! You have a great eye!! :)

Gus,
I remember "Good Foot" from a best of Soul Train album I got as a kid (I bought it for O'Jays "Backstabbers"), but I'm 'fraid I'm not well acquainted with Joe Tex's full ouevre.
Bella & Charlie,
I had an idea I wanted an ostrich, so I did a Google search and couldn't find the right shot. Then I sorted through some old travel photos and came across this one I took in the Cape of Good Hope park near Capetown. Lucky match.
hehe! Hopefully he's more mannerly thouh!
