Baching It

Well, starting this weekend Pappy and I will be two wild and crazy bachelors. My wife is headed south for a while to help out her mother, leaving us boys with a freezer full of casseroles. I had a sampling of what it's like to run the entire household operation solo a couple of weeks ago, and that was really the first time I've had to do it since we got a dog. Whew, the morning drill is a handful (shower, dress, make coffee, pack lunch, fill Kongs, eat breakfast, feed and walk dog, watch and read news...)

She may have a fairly lengthy stay, so Pappy and I are going to have to come up with some activities and getaways to pry us out of the house while our social director is away. I'm thinking I may line up a weekly walk on a new trail, maybe look around for some dog related activities. If I'm not careful, I may be reduced to growls and barks by the time wifey returns.

By the way, Jackson's World Beard and Moustache Championship for Dogs is over, and Pappy eked out a win by a nose against a strong field. Thanks to everyone who voted. Joe definitely needs to get himself that cookieduster.

Good Luck on the weekend, and cogratulations on the victory. Just don't get sick like muzzer did while dad was gone. Me and Teka are not responsible for the problems created by missing AM walkies!

Have fun Baching it...being a single with a dog, yeah, it can be time consuming. With walks, feeding, visits to the dog park, naps on the couch, and play time, my lady had no time for anything else!
Hey, your parade beat ours, we had no floats, no band, no animals (banned this year, hmph), just a lot of kids on bicycles and one police car, hardly worth going to see.

Thanks everybody for your congratulations. Jackson tells me the margin was but two votes. Celebratory dog treats are on us.

Gus, Murphey, Asta Down Under,
Any advice you have for single dog-parents is most appreciated.

Congrats Pappy:

Lovely job - alot of wax too...

Have a GREAT weekend with Dad - try to stay out of the bars...

You look like you just might be a chick magnet....

Airchicks,

I'm afraid it's going to be a lot more than a weekend affair. Pappy and I are probably on our own for much of the summer. Lotsa chances to go to bars and end up behind bars.

Congrats Pappy!! We are so glad he won because he looked great. I did look good in my stache, eh??

Congratulations on the win, Pappy. Your well-waxed whiskers were most worthy.

Perhaps you could consider setting up a harem while the female is away. I find it helpful in my bachelorhood.

Pappy,

Hey there and congratulations! You won that competition paws down, and I'd be proud to be buddies with a well-coiffed dog such as yourself.

I'm Stanley, by the way. Come by and see me sometime. Enjoy the bachelor pad while it lasts. Hope when your mom comes home the house is still standing.

Your goober bud,
Stanley

Joe,
It was a perfect accessory for someone who doesn't wear many clothes.

Ayatollah,
Can your harem come over to play?

Stanley,
I'll be by real soon.

Hi Pappy,

I left you some congrats on Jackson's site - then figured I should mosey over here and give them to you in "dogson." Your mustache was swell and your victory well deserved!! I would have gotten here sooner, but Mom and Dad were away and I had no access to the computer while I was boarded at "animal camp."

Of course I will never forget the humiliation of my Dad furminating my lower portion to get enough undercoat (something we wires produce voluminously) to create my mustache. It's a shame we didn't have a back story to our entries --yours must have been a hoot too.

Come visit sometime,

Jake of the Barkalot Boyz
